TaxTrace is a read-only compliance and tax-reporting service for tokenized real-world assets. These terms explain what TaxTrace is, what it is not, and the responsibilities that stay with you as the user.

1. Overview / Nature of the Service

TaxTrace ("TaxTrace," "the Service," "we," or "us"), operated by [Legal Entity Name], is a read-only software application and record-keeping / reporting service. It helps you (or an integrating venue) produce informational tax reports from on-chain and venue data — including records mapped to IRS Form 8949 and Schedule D — without holding funds or executing trades.

Read-only. TaxTrace never holds your funds, never moves tokens, and never asks you to deposit assets into the public Service.
Not a trading tool. TaxTrace does not execute trades, propose swaps, or ask anyone to sign a swap or other transaction as part of the public reporting Service.
Records first. The core function of TaxTrace is producing compliance records and filing-support reports, with optional Merkle-anchored integrity checks via on-chain Reporter hashes.

2. Not Professional Advice

TaxTrace is not a tax, legal, financial, accounting, or investment advisor, and nothing the Service provides constitutes tax, legal, financial, accounting, or investment advice.

TaxTrace is not a broker, dealer, custodian, exchange, money transmitter, or fiduciary, and using the Service does not create any advisory, fiduciary, brokerage, or custodial relationship between you and us.
Reports, figures, classifications (such as short-term vs. long-term), and wash-sale annotations are informational tools, not recommendations to buy, sell, hold, or realize a loss on any asset.
Tax rules — including the wash-sale rule under IRS §1091 and the treatment of tokenized real-world assets — are complex and change over time. You should consult a qualified professional about your specific circumstances.

3. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for how you use the Service, including:

Keys and wallets. Safeguarding any wallet, private keys, and seed phrase you control. TaxTrace never asks for them and can never move your funds.
Accuracy of inputs. Ensuring wallet addresses, venue data, and any user-declared cost basis you supply are accurate and complete.
Accuracy of filings. Verifying every report before relying on it, and ensuring your tax filings are accurate, complete, and timely.
Legal compliance. Complying with all laws, regulations, and tax obligations applicable to you in your jurisdiction, and confirming that your use of the Service is permitted where you live.

4. Reports Are Informational

Reports and records generated by TaxTrace are provided for your convenience and are informational only. While TaxTrace is designed for accuracy — using exact integer math, real on-chain dates, and Merkle-anchored report hashes — you must independently verify every report before filing or relying on it, and you should review it with a qualified tax professional. You are responsible for the positions you take on your tax returns.

5. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including (without limitation) implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any report, figure, or calculation is accurate, complete, or suitable for your tax or financial purposes. You use the Service, blockchain networks, oracles, and third-party software at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability
